The Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme was set up by the Government to entice businesses to use energy on new installed equipment wisely. We fully support this, whilst realising that we are selling yet another piece of equipment which uses more energy and which thus further burdens the country's energy production, we nonetheless prefer to do so as energy efficiently as we can, and inverter driven compressors are recognised as one of the best forms of energy saving device for air-conditioning equipment. Because this power saving means you will use less electricity than normal for the system, manufacturers using inverter technology in their units apply to have their equipment approved into the scheme, and if accepted into the register of equipment that meets the criteria in the Climate Change Levy brief, then the Government acknowledges this energy saving in the form of a tax credit against your end of year accounts. The way it works is that we issue a certificate after installation, (to prove the technology). The rest is up to your accountant!
